Cartooning Essentials
A 2.5 hour workshop Covering the basic principles and skills of traditional hand-drawn cartooning. Including, dynamic drawing, character creation, construction and anatomy

Creating Comics
This is a series of workshops in which students will produce their own comic.
Beginning with a brief history of sequential art and comics, students will gain a thorough understanding of the unique aspects of this challenging artform. We then progress to visual story telling techniques, character design, prop design, environment design, staging, pencilling, inking and colour theory in a logical series of stages. Finally we will look at traditional and publishing methods.

Book Me For Book Week
cover-frontFor younger children. I will give readings of my book. “Eddie – The Bad Tempered Teddy Bear”. I can also talk about how to draw Eddie and the other characters that appear in the book.

For older children, I can give a talk about the processes of writing and illustrating a children’s book, along with a demonstration.

2D Digital Illustration
Computers have evolved from a novelty to an essential tool for the professional creative. I have been using the computer as a 2D illustration tool since 1997 and have a thorough understanding of real world digital illustration techniques.

I can provide students with in-depth instruction and advice on the use of the most popular and widely used 2D illustration software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Painter, Sketchbook Pro, Manga Studio and Paint Tool Sai.
